Dual Language Immersion (DLI) at Providence Elementary School
Welcome to the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program at Providence Elementary School! At our school, students have the unique opportunity to develop bilingual proficiency in French. Our DLI program immerses students in both English and French, helping them build strong language skills, cultural awareness, and academic success. Through engaging lessons and interactive experiences, students gain the foundation they need to become confident, lifelong language learners.
What Does DLI in Elementary School Look Like?
In grades 1-6, students follow a 50/50 model, spending half of their school day learning in French, with a native-speaking teacher and the other half in English. This structure helps students build strong language skills while excelling in core subjects.
After elementary school, students can continue their language learning through middle and high school coursework, including advanced courses that can lead to college credit.
